  • April 20, 1924Sunday Schools in East York/ Elmwood

    Sunday School Beginning

    Since Easter, 1924, Sunday schools had been conducted in the school buildings of Elmwood and East York, under the auspices of a Committee of the York County Lutheran Conference.
  • December 14 1924Chapel Dedicated

    Chapel of the Advent

    The combined Schools assembled in the first session in the new Chapel Sunday, December 14, 1924. The Committee named the Chapel in honor of the season in which it was dedicated. The Chapel of the Advent. His word in this place!
  • May 23, 1926Advent Church Organized

    New Congregation in East York

    The Advent Lutheran Church was organized as a regular church congregation and 14 persons were taken into membership.
  • September 16, 1940A New Building

    Ground Breaking Event

    Ceremonies are held with one hundred and seventy members in attendance, breaking ground for the new church on the corner of Market and Manheim.
  • May 22-23, 1955A New Organ at Advent

    New Miller Pipe Organ

    Our new three manual pipe organ has been created and installed by M. P. Moller, Inc., Pipe Organ Architects and Builders, Hagerstown, Maryland. Today, May 22nd, 1955 we dedicate it.
