“As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is
no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus”
Galatians 3:27-28

Baptism at Advent
To be baptized in the Lutheran church means to be “sealed by the Holy Spirit and marked with the cross of Christ forever”. (Evangelical Lutheran Worship, p. 231) While a once-in-a-lifetime event, it opens the door to a lifetime of discovering one’s identity in Christ. Baptisms are typically held during Sunday morning worship and witnessed by the congregation, in addition to family and friends. Although baptism typically takes place in infancy in the Lutheran tradition, anyone can be baptized at any age.
